About

Current Position

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, since March 2025 as a member of the Rodent and Disease Ecology Group. I contribute statistical and remote sensing expertise to the Horizon Europe BEPREP project, supporting case study partners and helping develop overarching research questions related to biodiversity restoration and disease dynamics. Additionally, together with Prof. Frauke Ecke, we co-lead the delivery of Work Package 5 (WP5) within the ReWetFor project, funded by Naturvårdsverket. This work focuses on assessing where wetland restoration is most effective across different landscape types and how specific restoration design features can maximize biodiversity benefits while reducing vector-borne and zoonotic pathogen risks.

Research Focus

My research focuses on the population dynamics and landscape ecology of organisms, particularly small rodents, with the aim of developing evidence-based strategies that support both One-Health and biodiversity outcomes. I am interested in understanding how ecological processes operating across multiple spatial and temporal scales influence species distributions, community composition, population abundance, and species interactions. My work also examines how invasive animal management, habitat restoration, and biodiversity recovery can be integrated into landscape-scale management approaches to enhance ecosystem resilience, promote conservation goals, and reduce risks associated with vector-borne and zoonotic diseases.
